💳 Renting & Payments
You can view available unit sizes and rates online, reserve a unit through the website, or contact the office for help choosing a unit.
You can pay your bill online through the website’s bill pay system. Customers may also pay in the office by credit card, cash, or check if preferred.
Space Place accepts major credit cards through the online payment system and in the office. Cash and checks may also be accepted in-office.
Yes. Space Place offers month-to-month rental options. Rental periods run from the first day of the month through the last day of the month.
We charge one full month of rent at move-in. If you move in after the 1st, your next rent charge will be prorated to account for the partial month. Move-out rent is not prorated.
A valid government-issued ID and basic contact information are typically required to complete your rental agreement.
🕓 Access & Hours
Office availability may vary. We are often available Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM, and calling ahead is recommended.
Customers may access their units daily from 6 AM to 10 PM. All vehicles must exit the facility by 11 PM.
Yes. Customer access is available daily during posted access hours.
📦 Storage Options
Space Place offers both standard self-storage and climate-controlled storage.
Standard self-storage is a practical option for items that do not require temperature control. Climate-controlled storage provides a more stable indoor environment and is kept between 60 and 80 degrees, helping reduce exposure to seasonal temperature extremes.
Climate-controlled storage may be a good choice if you are storing items that benefit from a more stable indoor environment, especially during hot summers or cold winters. Common examples include furniture, electronics, documents, books, photos, keepsakes, and other temperature-sensitive items.

📦 Packing & Storage Tips
Do NOT store food, pet food, bird seed, perishables, or anything that may attract pests. Grills and similar equipment should be thoroughly cleaned of grease or food residue before storing. Flammable or hazardous materials, illegal items, and anything prohibited by your rental agreement are also not allowed.
We strongly recommend sealed plastic bins for clothing, linens, papers, books, and other items that may be vulnerable to pests. Make sure everything is clean and dry before packing it.
Yes. Store furniture and fabric items only when clean and completely dry. Use breathable furniture covers, and keep loose clothing, bedding, and linens in sealed plastic bins rather than cardboard boxes or open bags.
When practical, yes. Use pallets, shelving, or sturdy bins to keep belongings off the floor, and leave a little space between stored items and the walls for airflow and easier access.

Space Place is located at 1201 E 24th St, Lawrence, KS 66046, with convenient access from 23rd Street or K-10 Highway.
Space Place is a gated facility with surveillance cameras and controlled access features. We're located next to a residential neighborhood and across the street from Kaw Valley CrossFit, a gym that's well-trafficked in the early morning hours. It’s in a location that feels safe at all times.
